U11 RAPIDS TEAM IS SCORING GOALS + FEEDING FAMILIES IN PEMBERTON
The fall season for Pemberton Youth Soccer's U11 Rapids soccer team wasn’t just about scoring goals on the field—it was about making a real difference in our community. For every goal scored during their four matches this Fall season, the team pledged to donate $1 to the Pemberton Food Bank. Families of the players quickly rallied behind the idea, matching the contributions and raising an incredible $1,000!
But the story didn’t stop there. Coach Graham Murphy, of Murphy Construction, was so inspired by the team’s efforts that he invited the players to his office to talk about what motivated them. The players spoke openly about food insecurity in our community, with one saying, “Some people need a little extra help right now. They need food to live their life and be healthy.”
Moved by their words, Coach Murphy matched the team’s donation, and two local businesses, Wire-It Electrical and JT Heavy Equipment Repair, also stepped up to contribute. Together, this small but mighty team raised an incredible $2,750 for the Pemberton Food Bank.
We couldn’t be prouder of The Rapids for their hard work on and off the field. They’ve not only brought excitement to their games but have also shown us how much of a difference a few determined individuals can make when the community comes together.
Thank you to everyone who supported this amazing initiative, and congratulations to The Rapids and their families on scoring big for Pemberton families.
